I’ve always been drawn to things that are foreign to me. I love exploring new cities, learning new ways of thinking and getting used to navigating the places that are completely unfamiliar to me. This prompted me to create work in Kyoto, the architecture and the environment of this city looks completely different to where I grew up.
I found a local designer and I was immediately drawn to the fascinating and complex designs of her clothes, I knew I had to collaborate with her while I was there. The faces on the garment reflect my curiosity for the unfamiliar while showcasing how connected we all are.
